Can I attend medical appointments via phone or video call?

The Department of Health and Human Services outlines current restrictions surrounding COVID-19.

Where necessary, there may also be options available to help you access health services without leaving your home. This may include appointments using telehealth (phone or video call). Speak to your health provider about your options.

If you have any symptoms of coronavirus please seek advice before leaving home. Call the 24-hour coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398, your general practitioner or use the DHHS online self-assessment tool.

Can the TAC pay for my groceries or the delivery of groceries during COVID-19?

No. The TAC cannot pay for client’s groceries during the pandemic.

We can consider paying for the delivery of groceries if this is related to your transport accident injuries. We cannot pay for the delivery of groceries if the need is only related to COVID-19.

You are encouraged to talk to your family and friends about ways they might be able to support you. If you do not have people who can support you during this time the Victorian Government has Emergency Relief Packages that some vulnerable Victorian’s may be eligible for. Coles and Woolworths have priority assistance during COVID-19 that may also be able to assist you during this time.

Are TAC clients eligible for the Federal Government’s $750 funding package?

The Federal Government’s One-off Economic Support Payment is not specifically aimed at TAC clients.

However, any TAC client who meets the Government’s requirements may be eligible to receive this payment.

There are lots of free online resources that can help you stay fit and healthy.

The VicHealth blog has information about healthy eating, physical activity and mental wellbeing.

The Get Active Victoria website has cardio, strength and core workouts that can be done at home.

Aerobase has an online an online aerobics program for adults and children with disability.
