Young footballers across the state will stand with the Transport Accident Commission during the TAC Cup’s 2018 season by donning a hoody designed by a Geelong TAFE student.

Each year the TAC creates a hoody featuring a road safety message for all TAC Cup girls and boys players to wear throughout the season.

This year , the TAC put a challenge to Gordon TAFE students to design the hoody.

The winning designer, Zoe Politis, joined Geelong Falcons players today to inspect the end product as the Falcons prepare for the start of the season on March 23.

TAC Partnership Manager Candice McDonald congratulated Zoe on her design and her commitment to helping the TAC work Towards Zero deaths and serious injuries on Victorian roads

“Young people are some of the most vulnerable road users and teaming up with Gordon TAFE and AFL Victoria students helps share important road safety messages.

“TAC Cup players travel across the state with their parents and teammates for their games and by wearing these hoodies every week we’re putting road safety front of mind,” Ms McDonald said.

“We’re asking all the players to stand together and be mindful of making safe decisions every time they get behind the wheel.”

Zoe said she had researched the TAC’s road safety messages before creating the winning design.

“Road safety is all about the community coming together and protecting each other by driving safely,” she said.

“I wanted to design something that represented people in the community standing together and supporting each other,” she said.
