POLICY

This policy needs to be read in conjunction with the Pharmacy (Chemist Medications) policy.

Can the TAC fund the cost of vaccinations?

The TAC can fund the reasonable cost of bacterial vaccinations (Pneumococcal, Meningococcal, and Haemophilus B) and the influenza vaccine, for TAC clients who have had a splenectomy or have a severe pulmonary condition as a result of their transport accident injuries.

Prior approval is required from the TAC, with a clinical rationale provided by the treating medical practitioner or specialist.
