Under the Transport Accident Act 1986 (TAA), a hospital in Victoria is any institute as defined by the Health Services Act 1988. Outside Victoria, a hospital is any institute as defined by the law in that State or Territory.
In addition, the Governor-in-Council can declare an institute to be a hospital for the purposes of the Transport Accident Act 1986 (TAA).
Policy
The TAC will pay the reasonable cost of hospital services required for transport accident injuries.
