Physiotherapy fees

1 Feb 2026 physiotherapy fee schedule now in effect

The new TAC fee schedule for physiotherapy services is now in effect. Codes and rates in this schedule must be used for all services delivered to TAC clients across Australia from 1 February 2026.

This fee schedule includes:

consolidated item codes
clear item code descriptions
updated rates

Physiotherapy providers who have not yet done so will need to update billing systems to reflect the new fee codes and rates.

The easiest way to bill the TAC is via the HICAPS Digital platform. More information about invoicing the TAC is available on our website.

The Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF) fee schedule is no longer active. Physiotherapists who have been using these item codes have been transitioned to the updated fee schedule.

Services delivered prior to 1 February 2026 can still be billed at the previous rates via HICAPS until 28 February 2026 and via manual billing for up to two years from the date of service in the same way you currently invoice the TAC.

Approval Requirements

Initial, Standard, Extended and Group Consultations

The treatment must be related to the client’s transport accident injuries and delivered in line with the Clinical Framework for the Delivery of Health Services
Within the first 90 days of a client’s accident, and where the criteria mentioned in the descriptor are applicable, there is no need to contact the TAC for approval first.
After the initial 90-day period, approval to provide consultations must be requested via the Allied Health Treatment and Recovery Plan or as otherwise agreed with the Claims Manager and must be approved before services are delivered.

Travel

Within the first 90 days, and where the criteria mentioned in the descriptor are applicable, there is no need to contact the TAC for approval first.

Approval Requirements

Initial, Standard, Extended and Group Consultations
