Seasonal Clerkships and Legal Graduate Traineeships

Legal practice at the TAC

The TAC has an in-house legal services model and we employ over 40 lawyers. Lawyers at the TAC have exposure to broad and dynamic practice areas including administrative law, personal injury law, common law and prosecutions.

TAC lawyers act on behalf of the TAC in relation to legal proceedings brought at VCAT and in the County and Supreme Courts.

The TAC also handles common law claims arising from interstate accidents which involve Victorian registered vehicles.

Our lawyers are committed to demonstrating leadership in the provision of high quality, innovative, efficient and timely legal advice that supports the TAC’s mission to be the world's leading social insurer.

Seasonal Clerkships

The Seasonal Clerkship program aims to provide prospective Legal Graduate Trainees with an opportunity to develop a relationship with the TAC, while gaining exposure to our areas of practice. Seasonal Clerks also gain an understanding of the innovative way the TAC approaches litigation management.

These positions are based in Geelong and will provide successful candidates with three weeks of practical experience. The TAC is a signatory to the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) Guidelines and it is important for you to apply within the time frame under the Guidelines.

The TAC’s Legal Graduate program is designed to provide trainees with significant experience in most aspects of statutory compensation and personal injuries law and equip them to, with limited supervision, manage a portfolio of cases towards the end of their training.
