Updated Guidelines for the Community Road Safety Grants Program

The TAC is currently in the process of updating the guidelines for the Community Road Safety Grants Program. The update will result in two main changes:

  • The requirement of an electronic submission of applications in addition to hard copy; and
  • The inclusion of an updated example application.

Electronic submission of applications will assist in streamlining the assessment process as well as mitigating the effect of any mail delays that may occur during the time of submission. The inclusion of an updated example application in the guidelines aims to support groups prepare a high quality application including tips on the information required under each heading .

It is expected that these guidelines will be available on the website in early 2015. Potential applicants are encouraged to review the material available online at www.tac.vic.gov.au/crsg early next year before submitting their applications in mid-April 2015.

First Round of LGA Grants Program

The first round of applications for the TAC's new Local Government Area (LGA) Small-scale Infrastructure Grants Program closed on 29 August this year. The new grants program was established to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety as part of Victoria's Road Safety Strategy 2013-2022. The TAC received an excellent response, with close to 100 applications submitted. It was exciting to see such a large number of submissions with many being of high quality. Projects approved through this program will aim to make our roads safer for everyone, especially our most vulnerable road users: pedestrians and cyclists. The TAC looks forward to seeing even more innovative and well-structured applications next year.

Further information regarding the Local Government Area (LGA) Small-scale Infrastructure Grants Program can be found online at www.tac.vic.gov.au/lgg.
