The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has been informed by the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) that a charge has been brought against a former TAC employee for the alleged breach of a confidentiality notice.

The accused was not employed by the TAC at the time of the alleged confidentiality breach.

This matter is now before the courts and relates to an ongoing IBAC investigation, Operation Carina. As such, it would be inappropriate for the TAC to comment further while legal proceedings are underway.

The TAC understands that no current TAC employees are the subject of IBAC’s investigation.

The TAC is committed to integrity and public accountability. All employees are required to uphold the Victorian Public Sector Code of Conduct and are accountable for acting with integrity, transparency, and in the public interest.
