Capacity building initiatives
Over the past two decades the TAC has made a substantial investment to build the capacity of the neurotrauma research sector in Victoria. The TAC has recently provided support for the establishment of two new capacity building initiatives, which support capacity building in the areas of spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. These initiatives are:
- "Creation of an Institute and Infrastructure for Spinal Cord Research DOC, 0.02MB" led by Associate Professor Douglas Brown Austin Health in collaboration with Melbourne University - $1.34 million and;
- "Harnessing Victoria's Neurotrauma Expertise: Promoting Excellence and Realising Value DOC, 0.02MB" led by Professor Russell Gruen from the National Trauma Research Institute - $3.34 million.
