Hire Charges (Surgical Equipment)

Policy

The TAC will not pay hire charges for surgical equipment associated with a client's surgery procedure.

Guidelines

  1. Hire equipment that is not paid by the TAC includes nail remover kits, injection guns, and patient-controlled analgesic pumps.

  2. The cost of hire charges for surgical equipment is covered in either the:

    • surgeon's fee for carrying out the procedure
    • theatre fee
    • bed fee payable to the hospital.
