Provider eNews

News and updates for TAC providers, September 2022. Includes information on MyPlan, value-based healthcare, online remittances and telehealth study.

MyPlan to support clients with complex needs or serious injuries

TAC clients with complex needs or serious injuries will soon have access to TAC’s MyPlan. This planning tool supports the client, their providers and the TAC to work together more effectively to identify a client’s goals and the services and supports they need in place to reach them.

TAC clients will be encouraged to share their plan with their providers. This will give clarity about TAC-approved treatments and services, the client’s goals and progress being made towards them.

Eligible clients will progressively move to MyPlan from 12 September 2022. Any treatment plans and approved services already in place will continue to run their course. Any clients with an existing TAC Independence Plan will continue to use that plan. Clients will then move to MyPlan after their next review.

You can learn more about MyPlan on our website at tac.vic.gov.au/TACmyplan.

Reminder: TAC remittances are now online

All remittances for TAC providers are online and no longer sent by post. If you invoice us by email or post, you must be registered with Westpac PaymentsPlus to access your TAC remittances.

A free tool, Westpac PaymentPlus lets you access your TAC remittances within 24 hours of payment. You can get payment history and reports from the date you register.

If you’re not registered with Westpac PaymentsPlus, visit our website or email us at Westpac_Portal@tac.vic.gov.au.

Value-based healthcare a focus of TAC webinar

We recently held a webinar on value-based healthcare with more than 100 government, health and insurance industry participants in attendance.

Hosted with the Australian Centre for Value-Based Health Care, the webinar gave an overview of our work to date in our value-based healthcare journey.

Over coming years we will work with our clients and providers to pilot, scale and embed initiatives that provide value to all and deliver the outcomes and experiences that matter most to TAC clients and the wider community.

You can watch a recording of the webinar on YouTube.

Getting paid

We’re working hard to process your invoices. However, you may experience payment delays due to TAC staff illness and isolation requirements. We apologise for the inconvenience.

As always, please follow our invoice requirements to ensure we have the right information. This allows us to process your invoices faster than those with incorrect or missing information. Please also avoid resubmitting invoices, as duplicates contribute to delays.

Don’t forget, most TAC providers can use LanternPay by HICAPS to submit their invoices online and get next-business-day payment.

Allied health providers needed for telehealth study

Are you an allied health provider with experience delivering telehealth services to TAC clients?

Deakin University's Institute for Health Transformation and the TAC have launched a study to understand the uptake, benefits and impacts of telehealth on non-hospitalised TAC clients and providers.

By taking part in a 30- to 60-minute interview, you’ll receive a $50 e-voucher.

Have your say! TAC survey coming soon

An email survey will be sent out in coming weeks asking for providers' input on their experience of working with the TAC and providing services to TAC clients.

Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey, as your feedback will help us shape improvements at the TAC – how we can better work with you and support our clients.

New funding backs road trauma counselling

The TAC and Victorian Government have given a $2.1 million boost to vital road trauma counselling services. The funding supports the work of Amber Community (formerly Road Trauma Support Services Victoria), guaranteeing the counselling services will continue until at least 2025.

Amber Community helps more than 3,000 Victorians impacted by road trauma.

Please encourage your patients to contact Amber Community if they need support after an accident, at 1300 367 797 or ambercommunity.org.au.

Tools to help you support a young driver

It’s a sad reality that first-year P-plate drivers are significantly more vulnerable on our roads, especially when driving at night. On average, around 31 first-year drivers are killed or seriously injured while driving at night on Victorian roads each year and in their first year of driving. P-plate drivers are seven times more likely to be killed or injured while driving at night than fully-licensed drivers.

To combat this, a ‘Young Drivers - Night Time Driving’ campaign is now underway. The campaign urges parents, guardians and supervisors to educate learner drivers about the dangers of night-time driving and to help them to get at least 20 hours of supervised driving experience after dark.

If you’re a parent of a young driver, visit tac.vic.gov.au/nightdriving for handy tips and information to help you reduce the risk and support your young driver.
