What caused the accident? I do believe that on the night the person had come through a roundabout maybe a little bit too fast, lost control um went up an embankment and then crashed into a tree.

I've never seen a car so badly damaged. Put it this way, the engine and the rear of the car was probably about a metre away from each other, so that's how far wrapped around it was.

What I thought was a kid's soft toy was actually the person's head just sticking out of the back of the window. At that stage Ambulance Victoria also turned up and pronounced him deceased.

Police had taken some more photos. When you're standing there and you've got someone's head in your hand and holding it so they can get proper photos of that person but also treating him with respect so his head doesn't dip down… it's something that you should never have to do.

If he had taken the roundabout obviously slower, he would have gone home to his children. He was only two streets from home too.

It's not worth it, it's really not worth it. And also what it does to us as well, it tears us apart.

So please think about it and just do not Speed. A fine is not the worst thing that can happen to you.
