Motorcycle acute hospitalised claims by time and day of crash

In 2014/2015 there were 1,094 claims for motorcyclists involving hospital admissions. Of these:

  • 57% occurred in metropolitan Melbourne
  • 92% of injured riders were male
  • 46% injured riders were aged over 40 years
  • 46% occurred on the weekend
  • 59% of weekend crashes occur between 12 noon and 6pm.
