TAC announces lead advertising agency

Published date: 15 Mar 2019

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has today confirmed Clemenger BBDO has been retained to deliver advertising services following a highly competitive tender process.

The agreement will see Clemenger BBDO, which has been the lead agency for the past five years, continue its partnership with the TAC to create road safety campaigns for the next three years.

The appointment follows a rigorous tender process that began in July last year, and was subject to the highest levels of governance, including the appointment of independent probity advisers to oversee every step of the process. The tender attracted 22 expressions of interest, from which four agencies were short-listed.

TAC chief executive officer Joe Calafiore said the tender process demonstrated the best of Victoria’s creative thinking and insights.

“Public education is critical to reducing the number lives lost and serious injuries on our roads,” Mr Calafiore said.

“We look forward to working with Clemenger BBDO as we continue to engage with Victorians to help make our roads safer.

“I would like also to thank all of the agencies that submitted tenders, showcasing the strength of Victoria’s creative industries,” he said.

In keeping with past practice, the arrangement is non-exclusive and will allow the TAC to continue to work with a range of specialist communication experts in the field of public education.
