One lucky football fan and a mate will be packing their bags for England in early May thanks to a Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Melbourne Victory online competition to find the ultimate 'Player Zero'.

This season the TAC, Melbourne Victory and their supporters are one team with one goal: zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads, and they're on the hunt for players to join the team.

There are still two places available to go into the draw to win a return trip for two to see Chelsea's blockbuster Premier League clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday 9 May.

Eleven finalists will each receive a unique number zero jersey and two tickets to watch a Melbourne Victory game from a corporate box. They will also feature in the Melbourne Victory match day program and on the big screen at the stadium.

All people have to do to enter is upload a photo of them self and complete a short entry form on the Player Zero website.

The remaining two finalists will be announced at Victory's home games against Central Coast Mariners on 27 March and Newcastle Jets on 18 April.

The final 11 will be invited to appear on the pitch at half-time at Victory's last home game of the season against the Mariners on 26 April, where one will be randomly selected as the ultimate 'Player Zero' and win the dream football trip to the U.K.

TAC chief executive Janet Dore said the exciting competition was underpinned by an extremely important theme.

"Zero is the ultimate number in road safety, and in keeping a clean sheet, is a crucial number in football that every defence strives for," Ms Dore said.

"We no longer accept that it's inevitable that anyone should be killed or seriously injured on our roads.

"I thank everyone who has supported this important goal by joining the team and wish the finalists the best of luck."

The TAC's Towards Zero campaign encourages the entire community to work together to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on Victorian roads to zero.

Entries for the Player Zero competition close on Wednesday April 1. Visit playerzero.com.au for more information.
