The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has announced it is proceeding to tender for its advertising services via a competitive process, beginning with an Expression of Interest process which opened today.

The TAC's Senior Manager of Marketing Simon Strahan said the tender process provides the TAC with an opportunity to ensure that the most creative thinking and strategic insight is utilised in the creation of TAC campaigns.

“Changing behaviour is a key component in reducing road trauma in Victoria. This is an opportunity for agencies to enter into a competitive pitch for the TAC advertising and marketing campaign business,” Mr Strahan said.

“We have commenced a formal and rigorous process that includes Expression of Interest and Request for Tender stages which we expect to complete towards the end of the year. The process will be subject to the highest levels of governance and oversight, with Pitcher Partners appointed as probity advisers.

“In the interest of fairness and maintaining a high standard of integrity to the process, myself and other TAC staff will not be commenting until the review is complete,” Mr Strahan said.

The EOI process will close 2pm (AEST) 18 July 2013.
