The TAC does not condone or accept any driving that breaches the road rules.
Given that we deal with road trauma on a day to day basis, TAC employees should know better than anyone else, the dangers associated with speeding.
Any TAC employee who speeds is undermining the road safety message.
Every TAC employee must agree to the TAC's Safe Driving Policy before taking possession of a fleet vehicle. This policy is designed to assist drivers to better understand the most common factors contributing to road crashes and casualties, and show them how to reduce those risks.
A TAC employee who receives a traffic infringement must pay it themselves and is subject to formal disciplinary action.
It is unacceptable for anyone in the community to speed. Our road safety campaigning is well known among Victorians and rated highly here and overseas, and we acknowledge that for these messages to resonate we must uphold them internally as well as externally.
On this page, the TAC discloses traffic infringements from staff in TAC vehicles.
The TAC has a total fleet of 82, including pool vehicles, executive vehicles, SafeCar and the Vanessa fleet.
