The TAC's Medical Examination model
The TAC has transitioned to a new Medical Examination model. Under this model, the provision of Medical Examination services is supplied by a panel of medico-legal intermediary companies. The TAC's new panel includes MEDirect and Medicolegal Express.
This model aims to achieve the best possible client experience, timeliness and outcomes. The panel of medico-legal intermediary companies provides:
- a booking platform
- engagement with Medical Examiners across a range of specialties and geographical locations
- ongoing support and guidance to Medical Examiners.
How to provide IME services
To provide your services within the new Medical Examination model, please contact the appointed panel of medico-legal intermediary companies to:
- Advise that you would like to provide IME services to the TAC;
- Discuss your options, including applicable fees, to make an informed decision; and
- Confirm the next steps required to start to receive IME bookings from the TAC in the new model.
You can reach the medico-legal intermediary companies using these contact details:

If you are unsure if you meet the TAC’s criteria, please seek advice from the medico-legal panel providers when you make contact.
