The Safe System design challenge for tertiary engineering students
The second annual TAC Future Road Competition invited tertiary engineering students to participate in a competition that challenged their application of Safe System knowledge and skills, to help prevent serious injury and lives lost on our roads.
Participation in the competition exposed students to industry experts, setting students apart in the job market, and preparing them with industry best-practice knowledge that can shape the future of road design.
Students were tasked to propose solutions to a real-world road safety project proposal, providing a unique industry-based experience.
Fourteen teams participated in the challenge and the winning entry from Monash University's team 'Monash No Crash' took out first place.
Congratulations to the finalist teams for submitting quality proposals and real-world application of the Safe System approach to the Mornington Peninsula Shire project proposal.
Stay tuned for information about competition details for 2025.
