Our business

The TAC is a Victorian Government-owned organisation, with a number of offices around the state, whose role is to promote road safety, support those who have been injured on our roads and help them get their lives back on track. The TAC headquarters are located in Geelong.

Whether it’s through our ambition to achieve zero deaths and reduce serious injuries on our roads or our commitment to helping injured Victorians, we exist to improve people’s lives.

Our RAP story

The TAC is developing a RAP Reflect- our formal commitment to respectful and meaningful relationships with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This is our first RAP, and it will primarily focus on shifting internal policies and procedures to build awareness, remove barriers and support staff in our reconciliation journey.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Victorian based Aboriginal artist or Torres Strait Islander artist with a connection to a Victorian Aboriginal community to create artworks that will be published (in full or in extract) in TAC publications, including our RAP and associated marketing material.

The two dimensional artworks should represent what the RAP is and means to the TAC, and reflect the TAC’s goals around safe journeys for all Victorians.

The artist will also need to provide a statement / story that describes the artwork and how it represents the vision.

The artist should submit at least one, but no more than three, artwork design concepts for consideration.

Please include any special/cultural conditions or restrictions relating to the artwork or its use.

The final artwork will be required in high resolution digital format, of at least 300 dpi. We will work with the artist on the different sizes and formats required at the time of artwork selection.

Our vision

This is the TAC’s first RAP and as such we want to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this nation and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land through an organisation-wide understanding and responsibility to ensure we work in a way that builds long term and meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples promoting and facilitating respect and trust. The TAC wants to show that we purposefully stand with First Nations People through the actions we will take in this RAP.
