One charge of fraudulently obtaining benefits pursuant to s116 of The Transport Accident Act 1986.
With a finding of guilt the magistrate sentenced the accused to be of Good Behaviour for 18 months with condition that the accused donate $350 to Red Cross by 1/12/2021. The magistrate ordered the accused pay compensation to the TAC in the amount of $11,118.34 and Professional Costs of $500.
The accused was found to be working in a bakery and as an Uber driver whilst in receipt of TAC Loss of Earnings Capacity Benefits.
