Ongoing TAC Data Sharing for Research Purposes

  • To the Victorian State Trauma Registry (VSTR) – which monitors performance and effectiveness of the Victorian trauma system and informs service provision with the aim of reducing preventable deaths and injuries.
  • Victorian Orthopaedic Trauma Outcomes Registry (VOTOR) - provides a mechanism to monitor the profile of orthopaedic injuries admitted to the participating hospitals, including how they are treated and the short and long-term outcomes of these injuries. The registry enables the identification of injuries, procedures and patient populations who are at risk for poorer outcome, and can quantify variations in clinical practice and their impact on patient outcomes.
  • Longitudinal Head Injury Outcomes Study at the Monash Epworth Rehabilitation Research Centre (MERRC) - this project is to improve functional outcomes and quality of life and reduce cost in relation to individuals with TBI serviced by the TAC. This includes identifying TAC client needs at various times across the lifespan and assisting the TAC to most efficiently and effectively plan how to meet their long-term needs and support clients with TBI to achieve the highest possible level of independence and participation in work, study, community and family life.
