Finalists vie to make filmmaking dreams come true
A panel of film industry judges has today selected nine finalists for the Make a Film, Make a Difference (MAFMAD) competition. MAFMAD asks people aged 25 and under to submit a film concept that will challenge young people's attitudes towards driving, risk taking and looking out for their mates on the road.

Record May road toll
Victoria has recorded its lowest May road toll since records began in 1951. 18 people died on Victoria’s roads in May 2009, compared to the previous lowest May toll of 25 in 2008.

Don’t buy a car without ESC and curtain airbags
Victorians are being urged to put safety first when buying their next car as part of the TAC’s new campaign to reduce trauma on our roads. TAC's new public education campaign would start tonight starring James O’Loghlin from The New Inventors asking people to choose a car that has the advanced safety features Electronic Stability Control(ESC) and side-head protecting technology, like curtain airbags.




Help for bushfire victims.

TAC bushfire related information and application form

The TAC has set up a dedicated team to manage enquiries from people affected by the bushfires.

We can help bushfire victims in the following ways:

  • Cover medical costs and other services if you have been involved in a transport accident during the fires
  • Provide compensation if you have lost a family member due to a transport accident during the fires.

The TAC encourages bushfire victims to contact the TAC on 1800 332 556 (toll-free outside Melbourne) or 1300 654 329 to lodge a claim.
